What do the symbols on a weather systems map tell you?

Blue lines with triangles are cold fronts; red lines with half‑circles are warm fronts. An “L” marks a low‑pressure centre (stormy weather), and an “H” a high‑pressure centre (fair weather). How often is the weather systems map updated?

What is the difference between a cold front and a warm front?

A cold front pushes under warmer air, causing rapid lifting and often heavy rain or thunderstorms. A warm front slides over cold air, producing widespread light rain or snow that lasts longer.
